This artisan swap meet was held during a collaboration between Venice Beach Art Crawl and Mar Vista Art Walk.
We re-directed Sparcs’ voice back to its Latino roots and sought the feeling of a traditional marketplace.
Our research filled us with nostalgic trips to the Mercado with our abuelitas to purchase fresh produce and licuados for breakfast.
Chiseled type, color, and patterns mirror an “hecho a mano” technique highlighted by vendors participating at the event.
